Hi, I’m Marty. I’m a tall romantic with a Master of Fine Arts degree.
I craft original wedding poems that tell a couple’s unique story. I talk with them to understand what makes their love special — to best celebrate the joy, struggle, and triumph of their journey. As an accomplished poet, I’ve learned to listen, observe, and shape emotion and experience into language. And I do it from scratch.

Immortalize Your Love
These poems are commissioned by couples themselves, or are gifted to couples by loved ones. An original wedding or anniversary poem is a totally unique and profoundly moving gift, often unexpectedly so. A great poem telling a beautiful story is a powerful thing.
Along with the custom-written poem, the couple receives a copy printed on artisan stock, matted and framed. So the poem can serve as both a memorable part of the ceremony and a cherished keepsake for years to come. The poem’s text can also be used for invitations, programs, thank-you notes, and a wide variety of other purposes.

Your original, custom-crafted wedding poem will be printed on your choice of hand-letterpressed stock. It will then be matted and framed to your specifications, selected from a variety of visual options.

How does it work?
It begins with a conversation.
The process is centered around the in-depth conversation you’ll have with me, your personal CWP poet. This allows us to work together in focusing in on the story you want to tell and how you want to tell it.
First Conversation: I’ll send you a few questions to help you gather details about your most important moments. Then we’ll have a brief chat via phone or Skype and build the blueprint for your poem. Most importantly, we’ll discuss the story you want to tell and the shape your poem will take.
Drafting: I’ll cobble away at your masterpiece. Within a couple weeks, I’ll email a draft. Spend some time with it, awash in its splendor, while also finalizing your decisions about the visual options.
Second Conversation (call or email): You’ll provide your choices for framing, matting, and layout, and we'll discuss any small edits you want to make. One round of revisions is included for free.
Approval: I’ll make the revisions, mock up your poem on your chosen backdrop, and send you the proof for approval. Respond with any last tweaks to the layout, and then we’re ready to finalize!
